That’s not your cup

Everyone’s cup of life is different. Take heed in your lifes lessons and stop trying to drink from everyone else’s cup!

Yes! I know we missed sending out a May note, smh. LOL!🤦🏾‍♀️ But all is not lost - here we are in June and I have a good note for you! I wanted to take a moment to share a personal thought with you all. The other morning, hubby and I was starting our morning coffee routine and I reached for his cup to use for my coffee. The cup was an Airborne Army Ranger cup, in which he earned through blood, sweat and lots of tears. Something that most of us would not dare try to jump into. He looked at me reaching for his cup and simply said, “That’s not your cup”! We had a comedic banter about it and then it hit me - he is right! I can not drink from this cup! I didn’t go through the fire of what this cup stands for, therefore, I had to put it back! How many of us think we deserve to drink from someone else’s cup, just because we feel we should?

It's often said that we should strive for what others have, and that success is measured by how much we accumulate. I don’t think we should strive for exactly what someone else has but, we could definitely use another persons successful journey as a gauge for our own. We all have unique journeys, each with its own set of challenges and victories. Therefore, I don't want what everyone else has - that is not my cup!

I understand that we may be tempted to compare ourselves to others, trust me, I have done it plenty of times. However, we must remember that we cannot drink from everyone's cup. We have not been through what that person has come through to get to that cup - so why do we feel we deserve the same? Look at the photo above. One persons cup is uneven, worn, lopsided and dull looking. OMG, that cup may represent the journey a person had to take to get to that simple coffee - which is deemed their success. While the other persons cup is nice, well-rounded, stain-free and ready for the next adventure. What they both was striving for was a cup of coffee, but their journey to get to it was very different.

I believe that we should focus on our own journeys, our own cups, and what makes us happy. We should strive to be the best version of ourselves, and not compare our lives to others. Let us celebrate our individuality and uniqueness, and find our own paths to success.

I hope this blog serves as a reminder that we are all special and unique, and that we should embrace our differences…..one cup at a time.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR HANGING WITH US!!!
