Have you ever been told that you articulate well for a black person? Or, you are white but, you sound black! What does sounding like a color, really look like? Everyone has their own sound, beautiful and unique, because, “We Talk Like We Talk”!
We jump into several conversations around, how others perceive you, prior to hearing you speak. How we unconsciously feel a person should speak a certain way according to their color, culture, lifestyle, or simply how they look. We also dissect a few occasions in our lives where we were the judger and most times the judged. We all have been guilty of it and have found ourselves expecting something different as we have preconceptions of a person’s way of speaking. Who are we to judge?!
