In this classic episode of the Truth & Coffee Time Podcast, we look deeper into love. We understand that it is simply a brain chemical reaction per science - but is it really?! There are several stages to love and we discuss 5 of them here in this episode. We think these 5 include many mini stages but these 5 are the key components. But remember how you interpret each stage of love may be completely different from how another person may view it. Various stages of love, such as falling head over heels, passionate and fierce love, or a long term relationship, reflect the many emotional connections we have with our partners. Trust us, there is no playbook - but let’s get into what we have experienced through our 35+ years journey.
In this Classic episode, we tackle questions & comments from other interracial couples. Having a relationship is already tricky within itself, but when you step into the interracial arena, it gets a bit more involved. Although we live in a society that's a bit more progressive, there are still areas as well as people who continue to disapprove of interracial love. They often offer comments, microaggressions, and questions that show their disapproval.
We review and break down other couples' questions and answers and we share our own experiences. Now keep in mind we have been married for over 35+ years, so our experiences may be tainted with a bit more hurt and rejection. But remember we made it through and we are still going strong. Let’s get into it!
In this episode, we explore the challenges couples face when gaps form in their relationship—gaps in intimacy, communication, interaction, and connection. We share our personal experiences navigating these gaps and the unique complexities added by cultural differences and societal pressures. We discuss how these disconnects can strain relationships and provide practical strategies to bridge the gaps before they grow too wide.
Bringing this short but loving chat from yours truly. Love has a way of unfolding in the most unexpected and beautiful ways. Sometimes it hits us like a lightning bolt, while other times it takes a gradual journey of discovery.
Hold up, Half-Time is here! Relationships are absolutely no joke and both parties must put in the work! Take the everyday stress of relationships, the woes, and the constant work and add the interracial/intercultural element to it, and the work doubles, sometimes triples, and may even stall. But it’s half-time - so let's get into it!
Episode 158, we brought back the discussion of the Interracial pre-game. We shared some courageous conversations that interracial couples should talk about before getting into a serious relationship. So now you are in there, have jumped into a committed relationship, and/or you're married! Well, okay you jumped! Pre-gaming is over and now it is Game Time!
There is little success if, “game time”, conversations are denied or avoided. Let’s get into this episode!
